Well, it's another self-help book. Taking approximately 3 hours to read, "Do Less, Achieve More" is a mishmash of advice on getting organised, chilling the hell out and reaping the rewards of your Divine destiny. Yeah, that's right, your Divine destiny.Full of good advice, it tends to shit on itself from time to time with appeals to various religious sensibilities: The Maker has designed the Universe to serve you, etc. Not terrifically inspiring for someone looking for solid advice on how to survive on 3 hours work per week. But then, that's not what the book purports to be about.
My feeling is that people naturally respond to the spiritual because they are naturally solipsistic. It's inspiring to think that something massive and unknowable is looking out for you. A nice slathering of spirituality over the top of genuinely sensible advice is a big part of religion. Thing is, what it all comes down to in the end is not the whim of some divine force, but the power of your perceptions to change the direction of your life. Change the way you look at the world, and the world is going to respond by closing some doors and opening others.
If you persist in being dynamic in every way possible, you'll evolve while others stagnate. Simple.
